I collaborated with Event Communications, on a concept design for a ‘Perfumes and Elixir’ gallery that’s part of the Islamic Civilisation Village themed attraction in Madinah. I designed a multi-sensory experience where visitors are transported into magical environments to be enveloped in scents and their story in Islamic culture and rituals.
Visitors move from immersive installations of coloured light, sounds and plumes of scents, through a stylised harvesting garden, to oversized distillation apparatus discovering how fragrances are extracted and mixed since the Islamic Golden Age, before moving through theatrical audio visual and interactive spaces unfold how perfumes are used throughout the Islamic world for individuals, worship and expressing Arabic hospitality.
